Workshop places vary between £30 and £40 depending on the workshop


Full Day Workshops run from 10am - 3pm and are held in a light, airy conservatory.  Full directions will be provided when you book. 

The cost of the workshop includes morning coffee and cake, a lovely home-made lunch and afternoon tea. 

Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. 

Morning Coffee and cake will be served at half day workshops.

For workshops which are project based you will need to purchase materials which we are pleased to offer you at a 15% discount. 

You will be advised when you book your place what materials you will need and the yarn choices  for the project

There will be a maximum of 6 - 8 participants on each workshop to ensure everyone gets the most out of the day.

Payment is required in full to reserve your place.  If you are unable to attend a refund will be issued if we can fill your place.

Please find below all the workshops we have planned for the next few months.  We have introduced a number of them on a Saturday as we know that a lot of customers who work during the week would like to come along and learn a new skill.


We have been running half day workshops recently and find that this format works very well.  More complex workshops are split into two parts.

Finishing Techniques


During this workshop you will learn different ways to finish your garment to give it a really professional look.  We will cover the following techniques:


Different ways to pick up stitches, Fully fashioned shaping, Picking up dropped stitches, Buttonholes, Mattress Stitch, various methods of casting off, Blocking and pressing.


Cost:  £22.00

Materials:  You will need 4mm knitting needles, yarn will be provided. 





Tuesday

Beginners Crochet


This workshop is designed for complete beginners to learn the basics of crochet.   We will demonstrate how to hold the hook, making a chain and then going on to learn the basic crochet stitches.  By the end of the session you will have a sound knowledge of the basic stitches and know how to crochet in ‘rows’ using turning chains. 


Cost:  £24.00

Materials:  You will need a 4mm crochet hook and yarn will be provided.

Crocheting a swirly scarf...


This workshop is suitable for anyone who has learnt the basic crochet stitches and gives you an opportunity to make shapes using crochet stitches and make this stunning lacy scarf suitable for any thickness of yarn.

Crocheted Lacy Bag


This workshop is suitable for anyone who has learnt the basic crochet stitches and during the workshop you will learn how to make this gorgeous crocheted bag which is based on a flower design.  Amazingly it is crocheted using Dishcloth yarn so a very cost effective gift.


Cost:  £26.00

Materials:  A crochet hook and yarn will be provided.

Toe Up Socks for Christmas


Come along and complete a pair of socks in time for Christmas!


Toe up socks are easier than they look, let us show you how using a simple pattern which uses the same technique for the heel and the toe.


Choose from a gorgeous selection of yarn and we will show you everything you need to know.  This workshop is suitable for confident knitters who can knit and purl but it doesn’t matter if you have never knitted socks before.  You will learn

provisional cast on techniques and short row shaping.


We will be using a 2.5mm circular knitting needle and sock yarn.


Cost:  £22.00

Materials:  You will need an 80cm 2.5mm circular needle and yarn. *

Swirling Fans Blanket


This fabulous blanket is made in squares and crocheted together, we will show you how to make the squares and also crochet them together using single or double crochet.  This workshop is suitable for anyone who has learnt the basic crochet stitches and would like to take their skills further.

Materials:  You will need a 4mm crochet hook and yarn. *

Mini Christmas Knits


This workshop is an opportunity to have a go at something a bit different.  Choose one of the projects from the ‘Mini Christmas Knits’ book and we will have all the yarns available to knit a decoration of your choice, including bells, beads and stars to finish off your special Christmas knit.  Anyone can have a go at this workshop, regardless skill level.


Cost:  £24.00

Materials:  You will need 2.75mm knitting needles.  (we use double pointed needles)
